Back from vacation

May 20, 2010 by

I am finally back from vacation and hope to resume regular postings next week. I’ve been to Sweden and Norway and enjoyed the trip a great deal! And had no problems from the difficult-to-pronounce Icelandic vulcano.

Speaking of difficult to pronounce, here’s a couple of street names that seemed to fit the category. Yxsmedsgränd (meaning “Axe Blacksmith’s Alley”) is an alley in Gamla Stan, the Old Town of Stockholm. Wollmar Yxkullsgatan is a street in Södermalm, the southern district of central Stockholm.

More on Swedish and Norwegian in next week’s postings.
