Summer schedule and other logistics issues

Jul 4, 2011 by

Dear Readers:

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post in this blog. I’ve been busy with teaching in the summer quarter, getting my upcoming book through the production process and working on some linguistics research. Nonetheless, I’ve been trying to respond promptly to readers’ comments to earlier postings. And with my readership — happily! — growing, there has been a lot of comments recently. However, to my dismay, I also noticed a growth in rude and offensive comments. Such comments belittle first and foremost the person writing them, but I find them also offensive to other readers. Therefore, I will from now on delete such comments without warning. So if you want to express your opinion, share additional information or correct my errors, please do so. If you want to vent political or ideological frustrations, please find another forum to do so. And remember: Be nice. Keep it clean. Stay on topic. No spam.

I hope to resume posting new pieces on topics from language laws in Latvia to the Nostratic theory some time soon. In the meantime, enjoy your summer and Happy Independence Day to my American readers!
